My last post here was around two months ago. Somehow I could not find the time to post. That does not mean things did not happen. A lot of exciting new things have happened while I was away from here.
1. Google Wave – I got my Google Wave invite this Tuesday. I am yet to fully test it and see what it holds for me and what is its potential. I hope it lives up to the hype it generated.
2. Mandriva 2010 – Mandriva 2010 release is due on Nov 3 and I can’t wait to lay my hands on it. I am also thinking about switching to KDE 4.3 for day-to-day use from GNOME. I am still thinking but will decide only when I spend enough time with it and feel satisfied about its performance and stability.
3. OpenSUSE 11.2 – Another distro that is due in November is openSUSE 11.2. It is going to be exciting to compare the KDE 4.3 implemenations of both these distros.
Other than this, I have been enjoying my first vacation during this year.

The past couple of months have been really busy and I could not post as often as I wish I could. I know I have abused this excuse
This weekend I am planning for two things
1. Play around with Mandriva 2009.1 Spring RC2 release and record my findings
2. Read a bit of Rainbow Six. Though I have played the game a long time back, reading a book is much different.
I am all set. Have a great weekend

I am back after almost a month of hibernation
.What have I been doing all these days? Work. Yes, you read it right, work.
I was working long hours in the past few weeks and was unable to post something useful. Not that I am going to do that now but just thought let me say a few words
After all the hectic work it feels good to catch up with friends and have some leisure time to do things I like. Each day has been improving but the possibility of work eating into most of my time looms large. But that is some distance away. So right now it is the time to relax.

Yes, the weekend is here. How much was I looking forward to this one
My achievement number one – I managed to sleep for 11 hours on Saturday. I have been having less and less sleep for the past few weeks. I was sleeping less than 5 hours and really wanted to catch up with sleep.
Apart from sleeping, I spent time chatting with friends. It has been a long time since I spoke with a few of them.
What do I intend to do in the one day I have? Nothing. Really, Nothing. Just want to relax before another hectic week begins.

Well, in my previous post, I wrote how I fared in 2007. I have not taken any resolutions this new year. I never took one before for any year. So, here are few little things I would like to do in 2008.
- Never edit a blog post after I publish it. I dont know how many readers of mine have subscribed to this blog using an RSS reader and sure they would hate me for updating my posts minutes after publishing them
- Exercise – I place no commitment on this one
but just like to start exercising on fairly regular interval
- I would have to find more time and substance to post stuff here. I was doing a few reviews in 2007, but I think I should look at posting other things as well
- Contribute something to the Open Source community. I filed my first bug for the Evolution email client sometime last year and did nothing after that. I always thought I would do more when I get my laptop but sadly to this day I was not able to do so.
- Get better at work. Who doesn’t want to?
- Reduce my time spent online unproductively and engage in other activity
- Update my personal blog at least once in two days
Well, those are the things on my mind right now. And, there will be numerous moments when life throws a challenge at me. I would like to successfully overcome those with Integrity, grace and honour.

The year 2007 has been a great one personally for me for various reasons. Its never too late to look back. Well, the points seem to perfectly connect looking back.
A job switch – for good
Jan 2007 – I got into my new job. Though the process, had begun during the late months of 2006, it was in January 2007, that I stepped into my job
New friends
The new job brought a lot of great people together and in great variety from all parts of India. A few of them went on to become my best buddies. Some even as late as November. I have fought with one of them like I never did – shame. Things are fine now.
My first laptop
During the month of May, I got my first laptop. A Dell Inspiron 6400. It came with a Intel Core 2 Duo T5300 processor clocking 1.73 GHz, A GB of RAM, 120 GB HUD and guess what, Windows Vista Home Premium. Laptop rates have been going downhill ever since. No regrets though. I am dual booting Ubuntu 7.10
Three friends got married
Yes, THREE of them got married. All three to the people whom they wanted to marry. One went smooth. The other two had some minor issues that were sorted out before the event. Two more are still single, but well on their way to get married. That leaves me the last bachelor among our friends
Freaking out
This has been a party year. Every month I earned the envy of my friends by sharing a photo album or two. Courtesy of my employer.

Its that time again where I have to spend more time working than to relax. So there wont be any reviews or posts coming up as regularly as I did for the past couple of months.
Yes, there are other events coming up during the New Year. Got to spend some time away from work. So I should say things will be balanced in the next two weeks or so.
