Last Friday, I got my new camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7. It was after reading so many reviews and comparing rivals that I decided

on getting this camera. So far it has been good. Here is a quick review of the camera.
Build: The camera is solidly built and feels just right to hold. It is not small but neither too big. It is not a compact camera and hence pretty heavy compared to compacts.
Battery Life: It took About 50 photos and 30-40 minutes of video recording and several reviews of both the photos and the videos to drain the battery completely. A spare battery would definitely be helpful.
Photos: Photos turn out great. The built in Intelligent Auto mode works well for most situations. However about a couple of times, even with flash, there was some noise on the photographs and I was wondering what had gone wrong. There is a scene mode, a normal mode, two customizable My Scene modes and a Clipboard mode. Macro mode works just as great.
Video: The HD video feature is one reason why I got this camera. I was able to test the HD capability pretty well during one of our office events and they had come out amazingly well. I recorded videos in the AVCHD format but not in the MotionJPEG format which I plan to test pretty soon.
